I don’t quite know where to start with this one…

I haven’t quite processed the sheer scale and magnitude of this race. The terrain was the most unforgiving I’ve ever been on.

A race that’s designed to make you fail and it very nearly had me…20k ft of elevation taking in the Welsh massives. Taking you up then sending you straight back to the valley floor to repeat over and over again ☠️

Mentally and physically I actually felt really good going into this race but the temperature definitely concerned me.

The route was super busy with tourists too which completely threw me off, having to take some sketchy moves to pass them while descending a few of the mountains.

After 40 odd KM and A LOT of sweating the cramp hit me hard out of nowhere, both legs were getting hammered but I managed to cling on. Food and water intake were all going to plan and my stomach felt totally fine throughout. The next couple of aid stations were before two massive climbs so I just kept a smile on my face hoping the cramp would ease.

By 60km I managed to get the cramp under control (rock salt from a runner that had to DNF) Then it was time for the LONG climb up the backside of Snowdon. My legs had came back to life and the sight of the head torches coming on at dusk In front and behind was unforgettable. There’s no words for the scale of that final climb.

After a big descent I reached the final aid station (80km) and met up with Alyssa, Finnbo and Ursula…they were in good form! Socks changed and some solid food on.
