Setting off at a really controlled pace was the initial game plan and to be honest just seeing what was going to develop as the KM’s went on. A slight regret as in hindsight being nearer the fast groups at the front could of actually developed - who knows. Up over the CMD arête then down into Glen Nevis…soaked and freezing at this point.
After getting some fuel on board at Glen Nevis I felt surprisingly decent and Jason could sense that I wanted to push hard on the last 12km, I have a lot of respect for this guy as he’s come so far in the last couple of years so to be honest this also helped push me on as I picked it up…heading for Kinlochleven I managed to pick 6 runners off, to be honest doing this 40km into a race actually made me feel pretty proud of myself.
Finishing in 30th place.
